Family Arts Program
Families will be introduced to new objects of art from around the world by artists from the community. Families will make artworks with each other that will then be displayed at the BVOH and other places throughout the community. Join us in this effort to recruit families who may benefit. Transformative Theatre
This is an opportunity to provide the youth from the Bayview Hunters Point community a space to express themselves artistically, while giving them a chance to share their stories and validating their experiences by creating a stage production and DVD. The course is taught by Rena Marie Jones. Rena has recently completed her coursework for which she has earned a Masters degree in Counseling Psychology, with an emphasis in Drama Therapy. She will be utilizing these skills to offer an 11-week program to middle school aged children. These sessions will meet once per week for 1.5 hours (or 2 depending on space availability).
