To play their biggest Sydney shows on consecutive nights at the Opera House

Two US indie sensations – cult hero Alex G and alt-folk singer-songwriter Lucy Dacus – will make their Sydney Opera House debuts this summer, playing the Concert Hall on consecutive nights in February.
On Monday 9 February, multi-instrumentalist, singer and producer Alex G – aka Alex Giannascoli – will perform songs from his critically-acclaimed tenth album and major label debut, Headlights (2025), alongside fan favourites from his extensive back catalogue. Having built a reputation for introspective lyricism and endearing lo-fi production, the Pennsylvania-born indie fixture-turned-viral star is described by Pitchfork as “an artist who’s basically a genre unto himself”, with Headlights earning a coveted spot in its list of best new music. Supporting Alex G will be Sydney-based indie-folk singer-songwriter Esha Tewari, playing a special solo acoustic set.
On Tuesday 10 February, one third of supergroup boygenius, multi-Grammy award winner Lucy Dacus – known for her buttery vocals and confessional songwriting – will draw from her fourth studio album and first solo release in four years, Forever Is A Feeling (2025). The album’s lead single Best Guess was named by The LA Times as one of the best songs of 2025. Blending soft instrumentation with baroque aesthetics, it features collaborations with the likes of Hozier, Julien Baker, Phoebe Bridgers, Bartees Strange, Madison Cunningham and Melina Duterte (Jay Som).
